Welcome to Engell Family Band

THE ENGELLS (MINUS TWO)

Somewhere around 1990, Dad said we should all learn the fiddle and banjo. Of course half of us weren’t born yet in 1990 and the ones that were sort of preferred classical style music!  Uhh!! (Beats Rock and Roll!) Well about then we moved to the Dunn Mountain foothills near Addy in Eastern Washington and…. WE were born!

Luke, he plays his own style of banjo he developed from Fiddlin’ Red and lots of jamming with the old-timers. He does much of the lead singing and harmonies along with Caleb who’s been smokin’ up the fiddle for about 8 years now and plays a pretty mean mandolin too. The brothers’ harmony is sure to please. Isaac-12, plays harmonica.  He’s begun to sing along too now and joins the boys in harmonies. Aleah, nearly 10,  sings and plays fiddle.  She’s our sweetest member. Adam’s our baby (don’t tell him though—he’s tired of hearing it.. At 6 he’s quickly approaching manhood). He’s got way too much energy at this point to sit down and learn an instrument but he can belt out a tune to the top of his lungs when he feels like it! J

Mom and Dad back us all up on the bass and guitar and all together we make up

The Engells (minus two)

(That’s Andrew and Aimee. Andrew’s too busy now with his cattle ranching and Aimee’s got herself hitched and left town. But they give us lots of love and support just the same.) We hope to see you somewhere between Colville and Phoenix where we’ll be playing lots of old-time fiddle tunes, bluegrass, gospel, Texas-style and if Dad gets his way –swing tunes! We enjoy playing for all kinds of community events, churches, fairs and festivals. To contact us call (509) 935-6714 or e-mail us at band@engellfamily.com

As the great J.S. Bach once said “The aim and final end of all music should be none other than the glory of God and the refreshment of the soul”

(We had to throw in at least Something classical)
